  • Who is Ngo Bolingo?
    Ngo Bolingo was Nigerian Hippie before the rebranding, now she's bloomed into an elegant woman who only wants to tip the scales in love, positive thoughts and actions, and looking good while doing it only makes the journey that much sweeter. Before Nigerian Hippie was a made to order brand that focused on colorful African printed custom pieces. Now we have ready to wear classic pieces that ship out the next day. We are only focusing on jackets, jumbers, dresses and sets with a recently added lounge line.
  • What does Ngo Bolingo mean?
    Ngo is short for Ngozi which is my Nigerian name, meaning blessing. Bolingo comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo meaning love. I'm love biggest fan so Ngo Bolingo was inevitable.
  • What is Ngo Bolingo design aesthetic?
    Along with classic designs and vintage lines, Ngo Bolingo's aesthetic is print. I love bold lines and have gravitated to more of the classic African prints. I am inspired to create my own prints that tell the story of their creation and meaning, you will see much of this in my next collection.
  • What is the meaning behind your logo?
    My logo is the feminine triangle, my favorite symbol. The feminine triangle embodies who I am.Those corners represents each of my gifts that I intend to share with the world. Design, writing and art, I love them all. They are all outlets of creations and creativities for me. My goal is to incorporate all three gifts into each other. The feminine triangle was the perfect representation for them all.
  • Where are you located?
    Currently, Covid has me stuck on the East Coast. But my wings are ready to fly to the West before heading across the ocean to Africa.
  • What ensembles do Ngo Bolingo design?
    Currently, we are only creating jackets, dresses, jumpers, and sets. We are not creating single item pieces such as tops and bottoms. All designs are for an attractive relaxed feel that doesn't need a lot, pretty much a dress, jacket, and go, creating an accidental beauty look and feel.
  • What are three things that inspire you?
    Three things that inspire me most are, the first is silence, because through the silence I become more intelligent and preceptive. The second is travel, through travel my creativity is stimulated and activated. The last would be happiness, happiness inspires me, because when I'm happy I am glowing and flowing and everything appears to me vividly, and my creativity is sparked on so many levels.
  • Name a singer that best describes Ngo Bolingo?
    Alice Smith. Her voice gives me chills and her performances move my soul. That's Ngo Bolingo's goal, to evoke love from within, even if it's only for a moment.
  • What are Ngo Bolingo's furture goals?
    Ngo Bolingo's future is in motion and goes worldwide. We're all floating out in this wide, endless universe, together on this tiny blue planet, and I want to explore it. While I explore, I want to create timeless pieces that I can share with the beautiful woman of earth. I am excited to journal my travels through fashion, art, and my shared journal. During my explorations, Ngo Bolingo will shift into a life long story mirrored through fashion.
  • What advice would you like to give your shoppers?
    My advice would be to remember who you are. We didn't all end up here by accident. We all had gifts given to us that we intended on sharing with the world, so go and be the best you , you can be. Have fun, be kind, smile and laugh as much as possible and enjoy everyday of your life!
